Bonjour!
I brought back some beauty to share from our recent trip to Provence, France. It was an inspirational adventure in so many ways, both personally and professionally.
Everywhere we looked, there was a photo-worthy view or piece of furniture. Not only is the beauty in the finishes and details - aged, gilded, chippy, chalky, textured - but in the history they represent as well. Here are some of my favorite pieces from Chateau de Massillan where we spent a weekend :
i adore the delicate touches of gold |
this piece had me from bonjour! |
chippy white finishes are so classically French |
there is so much history in the aged stone - notice the varying tones and textures |
unique doors galore |
the beauty is in the details |
nailheads, textured linens, bold velvets, gilded details, patina finishes |
When I got home, I immediately got out my paints and brushes and worked on recreating some of my favorite finishes, as well as create some new ones with French flair.
I will definitely be reincarnating some pieces using these new Frenchy-French finishes (along with how-tos ;) so check back soon!
