Build A Toy Box

| |

Sketch out the toy box design on paper. make note of the shape and size of the chest you want to build. include the hardware and a cutting list for the parts to the toy chest on the sketch.. First of all attach the three long rectangular pieces that will make up the bottom and the 2 sides. the way to do so is to place one of the long rectangular pieces flat on the as this will be the base of the box.. Open up a toy chest and a child's imagination takes flight, especially if the chest itself is part of the fun. this toy chest looks like a barn, designed to make even a city dweller feel a little bit country. a bonus: with wheels on the bottom and special toy box lid supports, it's easier than ever for kids to round up their toys when playtime.

I designed this toy box a little different - more like how i build doors - to conserve space inside, and keep it light, and also because 1/2" plywood (used for the panels) is so much easier to work with than 3/4". this means you'll need to use 1/2" pocket holes for attaching the 1/2" plywood (with 1" pocket hole screws), and then 3/4" pocket. Build a child's toy chest and you'll have something that can be a keepsake as well as a functional piece of furniture. using a plate joiner and a few simple pieces of hardware will give you a sturdy product that will stand up to whatever wear and tear that your kids will give it over the years.. Toy box built for a coworker. 45x20x18. fun build. knocked it and the video edit out the same day! pow! thanks for watching! fun build. knocked it and the video edit out the same day! pow! thanks for watching!.
